Finding Your Gown
How you’ll find your gown at As You Like It is simple: you’ll try on gowns until you find “The One!” Here it’s a much more personal – and fun – process than at a regular bridal salon.
First you’ll talk with the designer about your wedding setting and theme, and your tastes. You’ll go over ideas, photos or other inspiration you may have.
Then you’ll get started trying styles on. The designer is a true expert in dressing the individual figure, and will help guide you toward designs that will suit your figure as well your tastes and your day.
Every style in the collection is available to try on in a wide variety of sizes, and is in the studio as a separate bodice and skirt (of course, your finished gown will be in one piece). This way, you can mix and match and see all the possibilities for yourself.
For example, you could start with the strapless bodice overlaid with Alencon lace, and the inverted-pleat ballgown skirt. Love the strapless lace bodice top, but not the ballgown skirt? You can switch to a moderate a-line skirt, or a Jackie-O column skirt… then change the bodice to the silk-satin halter-neck with jewel beading… and on and on! The possibilities are endless, and you can mix, match and have a ball. You’ll decide what you like and what to change, with the designer there to offer you advice every step of the way.
You don’t need to have an “eye” for fashion, any more than you would at any bridal shop. All you need to do is look in the mirror at all the beautiful options until that moment when you catch your breath and say, “That's the One!”
Of course, you’re not limited to working from our designs. If you’d like something you don’t see, or already have your dream gown in mind, we’d be delighted to create it for you from scratch!
Once you’ve found your design, you’ll choose the fabric, color, and all the other little details (train length, bustle style, etc.). You’ll find these decisions will be easy to make with our guidance, and everything is right here for you to see and touch. No surprises or unknowns!
