Gathering, ruching, pleating...all describe a look where fabric is draw into small folds or puckers. This is a style element that’s elegant, flattering, and very current.

Gathering through the bodice of a gown is almost like magic: it can both enhance and conceal! Gathering through the bust often gives the appearance of more volume, bringing pleasing proportions to a smaller bustline. Gathering through the waist or hips can fool the eye, concealing any imperfections. Overall, gathering creates texture and interest.
